Optus plan to introduce an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Challenge on their network as part of their scam prevention measures.

Following engagement with Optus they have agreed to delay implementation from 1 July 2025 to 31 July 2025.

Vodafone have announced this week that they intend to apply a new suspicious call indicator to calls that are originated outside of the Vodafone network presenting a Vodafone Mobile CLI effective 23 July 2025.  Where rights of use are held, whitelisting will be supported to ensure the suspicious call indicator is avoided/removed.

Currently a large proportion of calls presenting a Mobile CLI are the result of call diversions where a SIP header is not presented.  We would strongly urge you to start planning for the support of SIP Diversion information in your network if this is not supported today. This will ensure your calls are not incorrectly impacted by current and future scam protection measures.

We are aware that the differing approaches being introduced by the Australian MNOs can be confusing to navigate and so we have provided a summary of these below.
