Provisioning Yealink Devices

This article will provide a walkthrough on provisioning Yealink phones.

Pre-Provisioning Steps

Before attempting to provision the desired phone, ensure that you have factory reset and updated firmware on the device and enabled MPP for the desired extension.

For information on completing these tasks before provisioning the desired device, please see the following article:

Provisioning the Phone Template

  1. Log into the bvoip phone system.
  2. Click on the Extensions drop-down menu.
    CP3-MTP
  3. Select the Extensions subsection.
  4. Click on the Edit button next to the extension that the device is being applied to. Click the Add button to create an extension that the device will be applied to.
  5. Go to the Phone Provisioning tab.PhoneProvisioning1-MTP
  6. Click on the Add New Phone Device button. A pop-up will appear.
    PhoneProvisioning2-MTP
  7. Select the desired device model in the Templates drop-down.
Note: Make sure to use a template ending with -bvoip after the needed phone model.
  8. Add the MAC address without colon into the MAC Address field.
  9. Click the Save button. The pop-up for the provisioning will close and the page will refresh with new sections being shown.
  10. Click the Save button to save the phone template to the extension.
  11. Go back to the Extensions Menu.
  12. Select Devices.

  13. Click the Sync All Devices button or click on the Sync Device button to the right of each device individually.

  14. Once the devices are synced, there will be three new buttons to the right of each device and the MPP column should show Configured.

Once the phone template has been saved, it is time to factory reset the device. The phone should reboot twice. Once to ensure that firmware is correct and the second will be a full phone reboot. Once complete, your phone will be provisioned.

For Teams Based Phones

If you are using a Teams based phone, after provisioning, the phone will indicate that it is in Hybrid mode. This is set at the template level on the bvoip side so that the phone can operate on all levels.

For Zoom Based Phones

If you are using a Zoom based phone, hybrid configuration is not supported at this time.

Yealink MP Series

The Yealink MP phone series does not support DSS key as BLF in hybrid mode. If you are wishing to have a phone that supports BLF keys, then it is recommended to use a Yealink non-Teams based phone.

Provisioning the Phone Interface Directly

If you have phone device that is not compatible with the Managed Provisioning Portal, then please refer to our Manually Provisioning Yealink Phones article.

Manual Provisioning Notice

Unless the phone device is incompatible with the Managed Provisioning Portal, there will no need to log into the device and manually configure anything.

Phone Still Not Provisioned?

If the phone has not provisioned with either sets of instructions, please refer to our Phone Provisioning Troubleshoot Guide.
