What is a Phone Template?
This article will provide a walkthrough on what a phone template is as well as its function.
What is a Phone Template?
A phone template is a configuration file that dictates the registration details and basic setup of any phone device that is being provisioned into the bvoip phone system.
How to Use a Phone Template
Phone templates are implemented into the bvoip phone system by extension during the phone provisioning process. When the phone model is being selected in the phone system, it is the template that is being selected.
Items that the phone template will set for every device are screensavers, ringtones, security settings and hot desking.
Changing the Default Template Settings
If any settings need to be adjusted on the phone after being provisioned, they can be modified either in the bvoip phone system under the options section of an extension's phone provisioning tab or they will need to be modified by our support team.
Customizing Phone Templates
If the defaulted phone template that is in place after the phone has been provisioned requires further modifications, please reach out to our support team to have these put in place on your behalf.
Template Modifications
We do not recommend making custom changes to the phone templates without the assistance of our support staff. Please create a support ticket or email our support team in order to arrange for custom template adjustments.
