Updating to the New Teams Version

This article will cover what to expect in changing over between the former and the updated Teams versions.

Downtime Expectancy

Teams will not function while changing out versions. While phasing between versions, please feel free to to have users utilize the Webclient softphone until the versioning change for Teams is complete. 

Preparing the Old Teams Setup

Before converting the old version of Teams to the new version, the following items will need to be done: 

  • In the Azure Admin page, the domain that has the SBC suffix added to it will need to be removed. 
  • Each extension needs to have the 'ring my mobile phone simultaneously' option de-selected under the Extensions > Extensions section of the bvoip phone system.
  • Remove the Teams Sip Trunk from under Call Flow > SipTrunk section of the bvoip phone system. 
  • Remove the Teams Outbound Rule from the Call Flow > Outbound Rules section of the bvoip phone system.
