Registration Failed Softphone Error
This article will provide a walkthrough on how to correct the registration failed error in the bvoip phone system desktop softphone application.
Softphone Says 'Registration Failed'
For new softphone downloads, the registration will show as failed if not configured. To correct this issue, the configuration file will need to be opened to complete the installation.
For assistance on where to find the configuration file for the desktop application, please refer to our Setting Up the bvoip Phone System Desktop Application article.
Previously Had the Softphone Configured?
If you have previously had the softphone configured on your computer, the configuration file will need to be re-opened to configure the softphone a second time.
Still Having Trouble?
If the softphone has been configured correctly and still is showing registration failed, the local firewall could be preventing the softphone from working as intended.
Reach out to the bvoip support team for further guidance.
