Multiple Trunks in SipTrunk Account
This article will provide a walkthrough on creating multiple siptrunks in the SIPTrunk.com portal.
Why Multiple Trunks?
SipTrunk.com allows for multiple trunks to be added onto a single rate plan and account. While each trunk would only support the DIDs assigned to them, this allows for several benefits, especially in cases where there are multiple locations involved as failover options can be set on a per DID basis to fail over to other trunks if we one trunk goes down. Multiple trunks in a single rate plan is also good for when CDRs need to be broken down per trunk.
Its also good for when there are devices that need to be registered out the normal phone system settings or a phone system does not that the ability to have a separate 911 dial plans per location.
How to Get Multiple Trunks
SIPTrunk.com refers to this arrangement as Linked Trunks as the trunks will share the same rate package set on the primary trunk. The new trunks will also have there own SIP credentials to be setup on the phone system.
In order to arrange to have Linked Trunks setup on your SIPTrunk.com account, you will need to reach out to SIPTRunk.com Support Team as it can not be setup in their portal at will.
