Manually Registering a Polycom Phone
This article will provide a walkthrough on how to manually register a Polycom phone.
Manually Registering a Polycom Phone
While Polycom devices can be manually registered, it is not necessary if the Polycom Provisioning article is followed. This method should only be followed if no other option is available.
- Log into the phone's admin page using the phone's IP in your computer browser.
- Go to the Simple Setup menu.
- Scroll down to the SIP Server section.
- Expand the SIP Server section.
- In the Address field, fill in the phone system full name.
- In the Port field, input the SIP port 5060.
- Scroll down to the SIP Outbound Proxy section.
- Expand the SIP Outbound Proxy section.
- In the Address field, input the proxy server the tenant is using, according with its geographical location.
- In the Port field, input the SIP Port 5056.
- Scroll down to the SIP Line Identification section.
- Expand the SIP Line Identification section.
- In the Display Name field, input the name listed on the desired phone extension.
- In the Address field, add the extension number from the phone system.
- In the Authentication User ID field, add the extension number.
- In the Authentication Password field, input the Authentication Password placed on the desired extension in the phone system.
- Click the Save button.
- Reboot the phone.
- Go to the Settings menu.
- Go to the SIP subsection.
- Re-check the Outbound Proxy section options to ensure that they are correct.
- Re-check the Server1 section options to ensure that they are correct.
- Go to the Utilities menu.
- Select the Reboot Phone option.
The phone will reboot and the registration will be complete.
