Playing Intro Prompts
This article will provide insight on how to use intro prompts throughout the bvoip phone system.
Intro Prompt files are audio files that are used for IVRs and Call Queues to greet and inform callers as they reach these destinations in the phone system.
Intro Prompt Requirements
Audio files used for Intro Prompts will have the same requirements as the audio files used for On Hold Music. For details on the audio file requirements to be used in the bvoip phone system, please see our Audio File Guide article.
Tips for Intro Prompts
As specific features in the phone system do not announce when they are activated, we recommend that the following items be included when making your recorded audio files for Intro Prompts :
- Call Queue Callback options
- Call Queue Recording opt-in or out options
- IVR Key Press options
Expected Function with On Hold Music
Intro Prompts are expected to play over On Hold Music at a lowered volume. The On Hold Music will lower volume while the Intro Prompt plays and then will resume at its regular volume once the Intro Prompt stops playing.
