HIPAA Compliance FAQ

This article will provide basic insight on what is needed for HIPAA complaint phone service.

What is Required

For phone sysytem solutions that require HIPAA-based compliance, bvoip can provide one with the following conditions to be met on the desired phone system:

  • Restricted Access for the Phone System Console.
  • Multi-factor Authentication Requirements for all user accounts that have access to the bvoip phone system.
  • Encrypted voicemail and recordings disk.

This is what bvoip would need to provide on our end to for clients to receive a Business Associate Agreement. Any end-client  that would like to be HIPAA compliant would need to have the same conditions met in order to receive Business Associate Agreement from you.
