Auto Switch Feature
This article will provide a walkthrough of the Auto Switch feature and elaborate on its use.
What is Auto Switch?
Auto Switch is an extension level feature in the bvoip phone system that will automatically switch over an extension user's status to Available during office hours.
How to Activate Auto Switch
- Log into the bvoip web client with the extension that needs Auto Switch enabled.
- Go to the ... > Settings menu on the left-hand side.
- Go to Call Forwarding > Switch Status.
- Check the box Automatically switch status to available during office hours.
- Select the option to use the Default Office Hours or to set Specific Office Hours for this extension, depending on the needs.
- If this extension needs Specific Office Hours, configure as needed.
- If this extension needs Break Times, configure as needed.
- These settings will save automatically.
Overriding the Auto Switch
If an extension's status is automatically switched to Do Not Disturb at 5:00PM each day, and the user switches their status to Available, that will not go back to DND until 5:00PM the following day. The same is true the opposite way.
