We expect this feature to begin rolling out in mid-March and expect the rollout to be fully completed by early April.
How this will affect your organization:
Admins will have controls that would enable them to select applications to pre-pin for users in their tenant. These applications will come pre-installed for users and be easily accessible via the compose bar.
Admins can configure the Pinned apps selection within the "Setup Policies" section in the admin center.
